A familiar story reimagined through music, movement, and playful theatrical invention.
In this original musical adaptation, a fearless Little Red sets off to deliver a very special cake to her grandmother…unaware that a hungry, cake-loving Wolf is following close behind.
Performed by an ensemble of actor-dancers, the story comes to life through an original score and movement-led storytelling. The ensemble transforms into the characters, landscapes, and surprises Red encounters along her journey, inviting young audiences to use their imaginations alongside the performers.
Red Riding Hood reflects my approach to theatre for the very young: familiar stories can provide an accessible doorway into rich theatrical experiences. The work does not need to be simplified because the audience is young. Instead, movement, music, and visual storytelling offer children multiple ways to follow the story, recognize patterns, anticipate what might happen next, and form their own relationship with the theatrical world.
Designed as a child’s first introduction to musical theatre, the 35-minute production is playful, visually expressive, and engaging for children and the adults attending with them.
